My current 5 skincare saviours

It’s no secret that I am a slave to skincare. I absolutely adore it and will happy spend my hard-earned dollar on the latest and greatest launches. In today's post I wanted to tell you about 5 of my current favorite skincare products that I am using daily and that I believe are responsible for the fact that my skin is peng AF right now. I don't want to sound big-headed here, but people tell me regularly that my skin looks good, but by no means is this down to my genes, I genuinely believe it’s because I take care of my skin. I use acids, sunscreen and sheet masks regularly (sunscreen every day, obvs) to ensure it stays in tip-top condition. Anyway, here are 5 of my current skincare saviours.

This small but mighty product has been noted as a skincare hero for many years now, with women all over the globe heralding it as an acne-busting miracle product. I don't have acne, but I do think this is responsible for the fact that my blackheads are diminishing and my pores have shrunk. It’s a product which targets deep down into the pores and just seems to smooth the skin, so it appears a lot clearer. I use this as a serum after toner and before my moisturiser.

I have been using this toner now for a few months and I absolutely love it. Packed with Salicylic acid, this skin perfecter tones and refreshes skin as well as keeping acne and blackheads at bay. I use it day and night, sweeping it across the face on a cotton wool pad before I use my acids, serums and moisturisers (yes gurl I do use that many products)

If you haven't yet heard about both the ordinary or Hyaluronic then you've obviously been living in a ditch somewhere because these have changed the skincare game. Hyaluronic is an acid that hydrates and re-pumps the skins elasticity and in my opinion is an ESSENTIAL product to have in your skincare routine day and night. Imagine you've worked a long-ass day in the city full of pollution, dirt and dry air, your skin is BEGGING you for some hydration. This is where this product comes in - rub a liberal amount between the palms of your hands and pat into your skin before you apply your day/night cream. I guarantee that you will wake the next morning with plump, dewy and glowing skin.

Can you see a trend forming? It’s fair to say my vanity table looks a bit like that of a botanist’s right now since I literally own all the ordinary skincare line, but FOR GOOD REASON. Ok, Retinols... an ingredient which is anti-ageing, fights pigmentation and fine lines... do you need any other reason to use? I use the Retinoid emulsion as I find it more potent and easier to apply, you apply this the same way you would the hyaluronic, either before or after but always before night cream. Be sure not to use this everyday however, it is a powerful little solution so use it perhaps 3/4 times a week.
Sorry, but if you're not using a sunscreen of at least factor 30 every day, then who even are you? Sun damage is the worst thing for your skin, and one day without sunscreen can amount to years added to your complexion, as it causes skin pigmentation and wrinkles. I have been using this daily defense cream for about half a year now and I love it, its factor 50, anti-pollution, UVA & UVB and basically protects your skin from all of the nasties in the environment. If you want to start protecting your skin but don’t fancy slathering sunscreen on, then this is a great alternative.
