Going
bleach blonde is definitely not for the faint-hearted, and it can potentially
be very damaging to your mane, however more and more women are taking the
plunge for the summer season. Below are 4 ways I look after my own bleach
blonde
1. Use hair oil and hair masks weekly
I love a good hair oil. Moroccan, Argon and Macadamias
oils are all great when it comes to giving your hair a real deep treatment. You
can either use the oil after a hair wash, rubbing into the ends of the hair
(not really the roots as your hair will go greasy) or if you’re after a deep
condition, apply the oil all over damp hair and leave overnight, you will wake
up with super soft and conditioned locks.
2. Maintain the colour with purple
shampoo or rinse
In terms of maintaining the blonde, you will
want to invest in a really good purple shampoo to help diminish brassy tones and
keep your hair bright white. I love the bleach London purple shampoo and
conditioner set which I use once a week to brighten the hair, be careful not to
use too often however as these can leave your hair feeling a little dry.
3. Use colour shampoo and conditioner
If you are new to colour, you will want to grab
shampoo and conditioner tailored to blonde hair as these are much more
moisturising on the hair and help lock in the colour. I love the Elvive colour
protect set which are super moisturising and leave your hair soft and shiny.
4. Use heat protector sprays
These are a no brainer, especially if you use
heat tools such as tongs, hairdryers and straighteners. There are so many on
offer and they all do the same thing. I particularly love the VO5 range and
have used it for years. I spritz the stuff all over my hair after washing, it
may also be wise to invest in a SPF spray for your hair to protect against the
sun for this time of year.
