I bought Revlon’s cream blush from boots the other day, it was featured in my previous post, not a spontaneous decision as I have been on the look out for a cream based blush for a while, however I have ended up having mixed reviews on this product. Revlon is famous for its amazing colourstay foundation and so I had high expectations for the blush, I wanted a cream blush for the glowing and sheen finish rather than a matte cheek, and I didn’t want to spend a great amount so Revlon’s photo ready blush seemed perfect and for the acceptable price of £7.99.

The pros of this product are the shade and the finish, the tone is a lovely, understated peachy pink, which is buildable and not too harsh looking- great for pale skin, and the finish is also very pretty. However the cons are the fact that I had to apply quite a fair amount for this (to be quite frank) quite bare, hardly there finish, the products pigmentation is generally pretty poor, and I can see my self using this up fairly swiftly which is annoying. I realise this colour isn't very bright however I would expect a bit more colour on the first try, The concept may be that this product is targeted at people who like a lighter cream and buildable finish, however I just ended up dipping my finger in the pot more times than I thought i'd need too.

Overall this blush gives a nice subtle sheen and a very natural nude colour, however I am unsure as to whether I would purchase this or any of the shades in the future. I will defiantly be having a shop around for cream blushes from various other brands before I dive back into the Revlon pool.

Today was one of those fulfilling, one off days when you use up around an hour of your time wandering aimlessly through the many aisles of a store whilst soaking up the sheer joy of all things skincare and makeup. Today it was boots and Superdrug, probably the top two shops for any product you would ever want or need, I absolutely loved it, it was like therapy, studying every brand in detail, looking out for new, raved about products, as well as items you may need as well as want. I especially value it when I know I don’t have to be anywhere and therefore can take as long as I like, its also much more effective for me if I’m alone as usually the person I’m with ends up bored, and probably rightly so as once I'm in i can assure you I wont leave for at least half an hour.

On todays spree I purchased all manner of things, a few bits I needed, hence the Garnier hand cream, crest toothpaste, baby wipes and body scrub, and then there are the things that I just wanted. You probably all know by now that I swear by my Liz Earle cleanse and polish and it currently sits as my primary cleanser, however on those early uni mornings I can simply never be bothered to go to the bathroom and go through the whole process of cleansing, so instead I opted for garniers simply essentials cleanser, a product that was cheap enough, and something I thought would do as on/off morning cleanser.

I then eagerly came upon the makeup brush aisle and to my delight I came across the real techniques buffing foundation brush, this has been out of stock for ages in my local drugstores and so of course I nabbed it right away, I have yet to try this but am very excited for the outcome when I do. Now I have been searching for a cream blush everywhere, and although I am dying to try and buy benefits 'fine one one' I just cant justify the price, and so in replacement I opted for this one from Revlon's photo ready collection, a product I have not really seen floating around the beauty community, so I am a little anxious, however When I swatched it i found it had a nice shimmer and rosy/nude tint so I decided to give it a whirl.

And finally a lipstick in the colour 'I like' I purchased this from one of the lower end drugstore brands, a brand I hardly ever come face to face with, Miss sporty, yes I know this make is one which I will openly admit to using in my early teens, however these cheaper end of the scale brands are usually pretty good and worth the measly amount of money. I picked up the corally nude pink shade, which I tried on in the shop and thought it looked very natural and flattering on the lip.

When it comes to hair serums, sprays and mousse, I get kinda lazy, I wash and condition my hair however I’m not really one for hoarding tonnes of hair products, and tend to just leave it natural. Although if I had to pick one product which I probably use most often and find effective it would always be a serum. I would whole heartedly suggest hair serums over sprays and mousse as the texture and consistency is much finer and easy to apply, in my opinion serums leave a lovely understated finish on the hair, and a little always goes a long way as you never need a great deal.

I picked up this Charles Worthington one from home bargains, for £3.99 (I think the normal retail price is £5.99) I have previously used john Frieda’s frizz ease but found that it didn’t do a lot for my hair and was a tad more expensive. I’ve heard various reviews on the CW hair collection and so thought i'd give it a whirl, It claims to banish frizz and leave your hair silky soft and smooth whilst leaving a non greasy finish, it also has a UV filter which became an instant bonus.

I actually really like this product, I have only been using it a few weeks, though already my hair looks a lot sleeker and doesn’t have to be tamed as much as usual. In comparison with the john Frieda I would say they pretty much have the same effect on my hair, as they are similar, however I do think this pips the john Frieda one slightly, perhaps not for others but for my hair its perfect, the price difference means that I would probably go for this one in the future as well.
(please forgive the way I look- I was working, lol)

So yesterday I very randomly banged in to the glamorous and personally my number one youtuber Sara Walker AKA swalkermakeup in Leeds city centre, I have been watching her videos since I was 16 and have just loved all her content and her personality throughout her youtube career.  I was out working (club promoting) and she just suddenly walked past me with her mum, boyfriend and brother, It was actually quite a moment, and I actually ended up crying... yep that’s right I shed a tear for the woman who opened my eyes to the online beauty world, haha, She was a lovely girl in person, exactly the same as she is in her videos, polite and very sweet and it was such a pleasure to meet her, and I got a cheeky tweet from her too!
